Classes & workshops

No partner.
No experience.
No excuses.

We're not a weekly class; we're a monthly party with a brilliant teacher built in. That means you learn from people who normally teach at congresses, then dance it straight away with 300 people who want you to get it.

01

The party class

Improvers and intermediates (beginners welcome)

7:45pm to 8:45pm on class nights, included in your £12 ticket

A guest teacher, one hour, partners rotate. You'll learn a short combination and the musicality to use it, then the DJ comes on and you try it for real. Doors at 7:15pm so you can warm up.

02

Absolute beginners taster

Never danced before

First hour of selected parties (Christmas and summer specials), included

Basic step, timing, how to lead and follow a turn. Jaleh Fallah ran one at our Christmas party and half the room was dancing by nine. Look for the 'Beginner friendly' tag on the event.

03

All Day Spectacular workshops

Intermediate and advanced partnerwork

Once a year, 12 noon to 3:15pm, £35 including the evening party

Three hours bootcamp-style with world-class artists (Gil & Shelley, Marchant & Davina Birch). Musicality and philosophy in the first half, intermediate moves in the second, then an afternoon social to practise. Leader and follower numbers are balanced, so followers book early.

Dated class nights

Nights with a class included.

Your first night, step by step

  1. Book online so your name's on the door. It's cheaper than paying on the night.
  2. Wear shoes that slide a bit (leather soles or smooth trainers) and something you can move in.
  3. Arrive 7:15pm. Say hi to Karen, grab a drink, find a spot in the class circle.
  4. Rotate. You'll dance with everyone in the class. That's the point.
  5. Stay for the social. Ask someone to dance. Say yes when someone asks you. Repeat until 1am.
