About

About the founder

Founded by Karen McQuire in 2015, SalsaUnity is a true passion project.

When she started dancing in 2013, she became hooked on the Latin rhythms and moves. As her passion grew, so did her search for the best teachers and the best classes. This search took her across the country to take part in as many salsa events as she could to further her own experience. An idea grew from this, the idea to bring the best teachers to her own doorstep.

Salsa Unity Events

The biannual SalsaUnity event is the staple of the calendar. An extravaganza of salsa in every aspect, the star of the show is undeniably the main hall which is purely for salsa music. With a huge capacity and the biggest dancefloor in Yorkshire with a 650 capacity, this celebration of salsa is not to be missed! That’s not all though, with other rooms to explore including one specially designated for Cuban music and specialised workshops you are sure to have the best Salsa experience in Yorkshire!

Workshops

If you want a Salsa experience that’s personal and that will help you get on the road to mastery of the dance then look no further than the workshops held at the SalsaUnity Studio. These workshops are run by the best teachers in their respective areas, perfect for those who want to boost their skills and enjoy their dancing more. Principle of these is the styling workshops, made to boost the visual impact of anyone’s dancing and to help you feel in full control of your moves.
